CRASAC is an award winning charity supporting survivors of sexual violence in the Coventry area. We are looking for an experienced Finance Officer to join our committed team of staff and volunteers as we approach our 40th Anniversary.
To be the day to day finance lead for CRASAC, keeping financial records and preparing reports for senior management and external stakeholders, and supporting the Business Development Manager in preparing reports for the Charity Board.
To monitor expenditure, track income budgets and match expenditure to the different funders, managing all payments into and out of the organisation.
To maintain the finance records using financial software system, and to ensure these are fit for purpose to enable the charity’s Accountants to prepare the end of year accounts.
The post reports to the Business Development Manager. Support and advice will be provided by her and CRASAC’s voluntary Treasurer (a qualified accountant).
Duties and Responsibilities
Maintain and reconcile financial records on software package
Prepare clear reports (including monthly management accounts, both ad-hoc and routine) for management team, the Board and funders
Manage accounts payable and ensure all suppliers are paid
Be responsible for raising invoices
Manage petty cash and staff expenses
Work with Payroll Administrator to process payment of wages and associated payments to the Inland Revenue and Pension Company
Understand confidentiality and exercise discretion throughout your role at CRASAC
Attend staff meetings and training as required
Carry out other duties as are within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job as deemed appropriate by Business Development Manager
All of the qualities we are looking for may be demonstrated through skills and experiences developed in paid or unpaid work. Applicants need to demonstrate in their application and at interview that they possess all the essential requirements.
Numerate with enthusiasm for working with figures and spreadsheets
Experience of working as a finance officer or finance administrator
Able to maintain excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
Educated at GCSE Grade C or above in Maths (Or equivalent)
AAT student / possess AAT qualifications or similar
Proficient in Microsoft 365 Packages (Experienced Excel, Word and Outlook user, with some knowledge/experience of Teams and Planner or willingness to be trained)
Experience of working with accounting software
Able to communicate clearly and appropriately, both verbally and in writing
Able to plan and manage a varied, challenging workload and work under pressure
Able to work independently within clear guidelines
Able to establish effective working relationships with staff and managers
Willingness to undertake additional training as required
Experience of working within a team and able to take a flexible approach when responding to needs of the organisation
Experience of working in the voluntary sector
Experience of building financial systems
Some understanding of sexual violence and its effect on victims and survivors
