The Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority (IPSA) is the independent body created by Parliament in 2009 to regulate and administer MPs’ pay, pensions, business costs and expenses. We ensure transparency and fairness in the way MPs are remunerated and reimbursed for their business costs and expenses, processing around 15,000 claims for costs and expenses each month and publishing the details of these every two months.
This role helps IPSA achieve its aim of providing assurance that MPs’ use of taxpayers’ money is well regulated and that MPs are reimbursed from the public purse only for legitimate costs to support their parliamentary activity.
About the role:
Delivering complete, quality reviews of expenditure within the prescribed timescale, through activities including planning, sampling, testing, analysis of complex internal and external data;
Drafting high quality reports on these reviews, making recommendations for improvements to policies and/or processes and completing follow-up actions, including liaising with MPs and escalating issues where necessary.
Working with teams across IPSA to develop and agree a comprehensive programme of activity to assess compliance with the rules on MPs’ business costs and expenses.
Conducting appropriate assurance activity in response to emerging risks and issues with regulation, systems and processes, and recommending areas for improvement to ensure compliance.

We are looking for someone with good interpersonal skills to effectively deal with internal and external stakeholders at all levels. You will demonstrate strong writing, numerical and analytical skills, including an ability to gather data from a range of sources and analyse and present complex information.
