About the Job

Marsh are pleased to announce 4 new and exciting opportunities for a Graduate (with or without experience) to join us as a Junior Broker – Transactional Risk (M&A) Analyst.


This is a hybrid position designed to support the Brokers in our Private Equity and Mergers & Acquisitions Practice and will follow a proven training programme which we can cater to suit individual needs.


This role offers an office and home-working split if preferred.

The Private Equity and Mergers & Acquisitions (PEMA) Practice draws from Marsh’s in-depth global knowledge to deliver specialist services to the private equity, corporate, infrastructure, and alternative asset management industries
We work with clients during the lifecycle of an investment advising on risk and insurance matters at acquisition, portfolio management and, and exit / divestment stages
Our global practice consists of more than 150 professionals based worldwide

We will count on you to:

Support senior members of the team as they advise on and structure insurance capital solutions to support and facilitate Merger & Acquisition transactions
Assist senior brokers in project managing engagements from initial client contact through to close, creating an efficient and organised process, keeping placements running on agreed timelines and enabling solution delivery to clients
Liaise with insurers during quotation phase and support the senior broker in presenting potential insurance solutions to clients, as well as engaging with client and advisor contacts to facilitate the delivery of key documents and underwriting information
Analyse insurer terms and present clearly and professionally in written format, whether quantitative or qualitative
Communicate with underwriters and assistants in the warranty and indemnity insurance market as well as exposure to clients and their advisors
Process, negotiate and track key documents such as confidentiality agreements, engagement letters, non-reliance letters and other related materials quickly and efficiently
Maintain an overview of deal timelines and proactively plan ahead to ensure workload management for both you and senior colleagues
Track documentation from one party to another and follow up with individuals to keep processes moving
Assist with preparation of meeting and presentation materials for business development work

What you need to have:

Degree level educated with a desire to move into the insurance industry
You should be a proactive, motivated individual who pays attention to detail and shows foresight and initiative in approaching their work
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, PowerPoint and Excel
You will need to be a team-player with strong inter-personal skills and an ability to focus on tasks alone or as part of the team
You should be comfortable taking calls from internal and external contacts and have excellent written and verbal communication skills

What makes you stand out:

Junior broker and/or underwriting support assistants are of particular interest but the role is open to Degree level educated candidates from different industries
Previous experience of working in the insurance, M&A or legal sectors is beneficial but not essential
