Junior Researcher & Design Strategist

About This Role

We are looking for a Junior Researcher and Design Strategist to join the team. Our Research and Design Strategy team is at the heart of driving customer centricity in the business, helping Capital One deeply understand our customers and translate these insights into opportunities we can invest in. We work across the organisation on an extensive range of initiatives, from designing new products and services for our customers to cultural transformation and shaping our long term business strategy.

What You’ll Do
You’ll be a researcher and a design strategist in projects that are transforming and shaping the future of Capital One in the UK.
You’ll work with our Design Strategists, learning how to apply design thinking and human centred methodologies to help solve business challenges through discovery, synthesis, ideation, design, and testing.
You will learn and develop a wide range of research techniques, including conducting qualitative interviews, usability interviews, surveys, diary studies, and many more.
You’ll be part of a diverse and experienced research and design strategy team, helping champion the voice of the customer in our business.

What We’re Looking For
Endless curiosity for human behaviour.
Passion for creative problem solving and designing great customer experiences.
A visual thinker who is adept at communicating via various creative software platforms and/or media.
Desire and curiosity to learn about credit and lending.
A degree in a field related to design, business, and/or research.

Where And How You’ll Work

This is a permanent position and based in either our London or Nottingham offices. We’ve adopted a flexible hybrid working model – one that creates the opportunity to work in your own way, but also provides great spaces for in-person collaboration.

Our core in-the-office days are Tuesday to Thursday, but they aren’t mandatory – you’ll be led by your team, the type of work you do and of course your preferences. Many of our team have flexible working patterns so we’re open to discuss flexible working arrangements with you.
