About the Role
As a Front End Web Developer you will work with a range of partners on varied website design and build projects, providing exceptional knowledge and skills in programming and implementation of design, structure, functionality, data and content. The ideal candidate will have an understanding of web design, and an evidenced passion for web development, digital marketing and a high level of creativity.
You will be contributing at all stages; from ideation, to workshops, to project builds and launches; establishing positive partner relationships as well as providing your FED expertise and knowledge. Your role will work closely with our marketers and designers, as well as our technology and innovation team to create websites, software and online solutions that not only meet the needs of partners, but change the way we connect, unite and discover the world around us in the realm of sports, health and leisure.
As you’ll be joining a small but talented and dedicated team, you must be prepared to work both above and below your level, and to nurture shared learning and collaborative working. You will be supporting – and reporting to – the Head of Brand and Marketing and the UK/US Marketing Managers.
Responsibilities Include
Working in collaboration with designers to establish wireframes and prototypes
Building sites using CSS/HTML/JavaScript/jQuery (Primarily WordPress)
Managing CPanel FTP and databases
Developing bespoke WordPress themes
Managing hosting, DNS and site migrations
Site Optimisation
Lead on the technical website development process with support from Marketing Managers
Project managing and integrating Scrum workflow
Implementing agile development and roadmapping
Prioritising user-centred design
Providing technical and technology support to resolve challenges
Refining application specifications and delivering useful software/website documentation
Applying best-practice to cyber security and accessibility
Staying abreast of developments in web applications and programming languages
Testing/Debugging
